Our Past and
Our Future
Noah’s Ark Christian Preschool and
Kindergarten was launched in September of 1996. We were formed by a
group of teachers who were inspired to minister to the early childhood
educational needs of our community, with a mission to develop a
well-rounded child in a nurturing Christian environment. Noah’s Ark
currently serves an area that incorporates the cities of Sammamish,
Redmond, and Issaquah. “The Plateau,” as our community is commonly
referred to, retains its rural look and feel, even though the
population has swelled to more than 47,000 people.1
We hear an outcry from parents in the community who
would like to continue educating their children in the same solid
Christian beliefs that are currently found in our preschool and
kindergarten program. Today, there are no Christian elementary
schools in the plateau community, and the community continues to grow.
In fact, our area has the highest density of school-aged children
per family in the entire country, with 54.5% of households including
people under the age of 18.
The families of elementary school-aged children in our community have
limited choices: either drive inconvenient distances to private
schools, or go to public schools that may lack the education of moral
character development.
Our Response
The Noah’s Ark school board and a dedicated group of
volunteers have made a commitment to provide our community’s children
with a strong academic, Christian education, from early childhood
through grade five. We are offering a solution to our community’s
families who are searching for continued academic and spiritual
excellence at the elementary level. Coupled with stellar
academics, we envision a school that will be based on the importance
of teaching moral character, integrity, and Christian values to
prepare children for success.
