Volunteering at
SCSNA
Whether you are new to SCSNA or you have been around for years, you already know how very blessed we are to have families that take an active interest in helping us build our community. Each year, we strive to provide opportunities to build community and reach out locally and globally. We ask that you review the list of volunteer opportunities below and prayerfully consider volunteering some of your time during the school year. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this form and mail it to the
school.
Please check the school calendar on this website for the specific dates for these events.
Auction
The 2007-2008 Auction is scheduled for March 8th! This is the ultimate opportunity
for fellowship and community at SCSNA. Auction committee
members become fast friends. Whether you love to decorate or have time
to do catalog entry from home, there is something for everyone! If you are interested in helping with the auction, please contact our auction chairs Amie Sauve' at asauve@centurytel.net or Lora Baier at lorabaier@comcast.net.
Community Outreach
This committee oversees the Fall
Food Drive, Holiday Giving Tree, Bolivian Orphanage
Project and Loose Change for World Change project for World Vision.
This may be the most satisfying position available. Watching the
children at SCSNA learn about giving to others in need is so touching.
Box Tops and Soup Labels
It's amazing how many dollars
cardboard and paper can generate! Help is needed in the coordinating
and the collection of the box tops and labels, and mailing them all
in. Expected time commitment is once per month. A great volunteer
opportunity that you can do in the comfort of your own home!
A Grandconnection
An amazing opportunity to foster
relationships between SCSNA students and local seniors.
Responsibilities include scheduling local retirement community seniors
to volunteer in the classrooms from Bellewood and Providence Point;
inviting grandparents into the classroom; and elementary children
doing service projects at centers. A great program that
establishes a friendly, positive relationship between generations. The
kids LOVE this program and feel blessed to have extra "grandparents"
in their lives!
School Pictures
Help us coordinate picture dates,
volunteers, and envelope collections; organize picture times for each
class, and make sure all those cute little smiles are in front of the
camera on time!
Classroom Rep
A parent rep is needed in each
classroom to process and distribute monthly Scholastic book orders for
the children. This is an easy commitment that can be done at home, and
it is a HUGE help to the teachers! The classroom rep also assists teachers with coordinating class parties and field trips.
Teacher Appreciation
Oversee year long efforts to
celebrate our amazing staff. From personalized cards on staff
birthdays, a holiday cookie "exchange", our Focus on Faculty Board, to
National Teacher Appreciation Week activities. This committee is very
rewarding.
Time and
Talent
If you have a
skill or service that is not listed here but you believe would benefit
the school, please let us know. We often are looking for individuals
with time and talent to help us nurture and grow our school.
Please put some time into thinking
what you can do and in what ways you can help. Remember, every little
effort helps, and we certainly appreciate it all!
More information
about these wonderful opportunities will be available throughout the
school year. Check back here for more information and also with your
child's teachers.
